The Oxford Centre for Innovation and Interventional Technology (OCIT)
Bringing Technological Innovation to Interventions
OCIT is an exciting new institute that will bring together surgeons, scientists, biomedical engineers, radiobiologists, bioinformaticians and others in an integrated, multi-disciplinary, technology-orientated centre. The centre is being driven jointly by the University of Oxford’s Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences and Institute of Biomedical Engineering. It will be based at the Churchill Hospital site in partnership with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH).
Welcome from THE HEAD OF DEPARTMENT
Welcome!
As head of the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences and of one of the four Oxford University Hospitals NHS divisions I welcome you to OCIT, our exciting new venture in which we seek to bring world-leading experts in surgery, engineering, physics, robotics and computer science under one roof. My hope is that, through this new institute, Oxford will lead the way in innovative surgical science and deliver ground-breaking advances that will transform patient care. To make this vision a reality we need partners who can support us with both finance and expertise. Please consider whether you might join us in this endeavour.
I would be happy to discuss the detail of the project further with interested individuals and would welcome personal enquiries through my Executive Assistant, Mrs Nicky Iyer (Email: nicky.iyer@nds.ox.ac.uk; Tel: +44 1865 617123).
