NDS researcher Dimitrios Doultsinos is set to participate in both the Athens Authentic Marathon and the Royal Parks Half Marathon in support of the CRIS Cancer Foundation.

Dimitrios with CRIS Cancer Foundation

For the third year in a row, I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon (12 October) and then the Athens Authentic Marathon (9 November) in aid of the CRIS Cancer Foundation. Having lost family to cancer and having close family currently suffering from cancer this cause is very close to my heart. As cancer researchers here at NDS, we see first-hand how important the support of organisations like CRIS is to patients with very limited choices.

CRIS Cancer is an international charity that funds research into pioneering new cancer treatments to give the best chance of survival. They give scientists in the UK, Spain and France the support and funds to accelerate the discovery of cancer treatments for adults and children. Over the last 10 years, they have given over £18 million to research bodies including the University of Oxford and have pledged to invest a further £48 million over the next five years. By stepping in where there are gaps in funding, as well as collaborating and building alliances worldwide with top research institutions, CRIS Cancer supports research scientists to speed up innovative therapies – bringing hope to thousands of cancer patients.

Our running team aim to raise £50,000 this autumnany and all donations would be massively appreciated and are crucial to combat cancer!
