A publication from the Translational Research and Immunology Group at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (NDS) has received the Paper of the Quarter Award from the German Society for Gene Therapy (DG-GT).

The research entitled ‘HLA matching or CRISPR editing of HLA class I/II enables engraftment and effective function of allogeneic human regulatory T cell therapy in a humanized mouse transplantation model’ was published in Nature Communications in October 2025.

This joint project involved NDS and the Berlin Center for Advanced Therapies, with NDS authors Oliver McCallion, Kate Milward, Sarah Short, Merve Bilici, Amy Cross, Helen Stark, Joanna Hester, and Fadi Issa.

DG-GT is an association of scientists and physicians working on issues of experimental and clinical gene therapy. Each quarter, DG-GT recognises high-ranking publications in the field of gene therapy with its Paper of the Quarter Award.
