Study summary
Why are we doing the GOLF Study? | The aim of the GOLF Study is to see whether the LINX procedure gives you similar acid reflux control and improves your symptoms after you have had the device put in, particularly with gas bloating and not being able to burp, when compared to fundoplication 24 months after surgery. | |
Who can take part? | Patients who are going to have anti-reflux surgery for confirmed GORD (acid-reflux) that is not well controlled with medicines or for patients who are not able to have these medicines. | |
How long is the GOLF Study? | You will take part in the study for 24 months in total. | |
Who is organising and funding the study? | The GOLF Study is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and is run by the University of Oxford. | |
What are the randomised groups? | Patients to receive either fundoplication or the insertion of the LINX device. |
