Oxford university clinical course

160 students are accepted on an annual basis into the clinical course.

Information on admissions to the University of Oxford to study medicine can be found on the University website.

The Clinical Tutor is responsible for the delivery of the core curriculum and the development of the course to meet GMC standards.  Students are taught clinical surgery during operating theatre lists and out-patient clinics, by exposure to in-patients, practical skills techniques tutoring, lecture courses and seminar based learning.  All students are allocated a tutor in small groups.

Assessments are held at the end of the 4th year course and consist of an Objective Structured Clinical Examination and written paper (Year 4).  Students are also required to submit a 3000 word case study and a satisfactory Course Report Form.

In Year 6, students will take the Second BM Final Examination consisting of clinical and written assessments.

An overview of the Clinical Course (Years 4, 5 & 6) can be found here.
